About the Design and Business exchange programme

As an exchange student, you will enrol in one of our full degree programmes taught in English. You will be joining a class consisting of both international and Danish students.
You choose an area of specialisation within either design or business. As a result, you get to study the subject area you are most interested in. You will join the first semester (Autumn) or second semester (Spring) on one of the below specialisations. Be aware that we have limited seats and a nomination is no guarantee for admission.
Branding and Marketing Management
You learn to develop, plan, implement and evaluate marketing initiatives in a broad sense, both nationally and internationally. In this context, you can identify, analyse and present data, trends and currents in areas related to marketing and branding.
Courses autumn semester:
- Specialty course - Brand theory, strategy and innovation – 5 ECTS
- Specialty course - Corporate branding – 5 ECTS
- Specialty course - Consumer behaviour – 5 ECTS

Fashion Design
Get a profound knowledge offashion design, collection building and construction/fitting, trends, sociology, idea generation and theory of science that enables you to work with the design process in an experimenting and creative manner.To become admitted into Fashion Design, it is a requisite that you have very good sewing and design skills.

- Specialty course - Womens wear 2 - 5 ECTS

Qualify to work professionally with generating business ideas, projects, and concepts whether you want to establish your own company or work with development in an existing company.

When your home university has nominated you for exchange at VIA Design and Business, we will send you further information and a link to our online application system.
If you are applying for Fashion Design, please be ready to send a portfolio to us showing your previous work when requested by e-mail to do so.Please be aware that seats are very limited for this specialty. The course requires that you have have a certain skillset within sewing, and your portfolio needs to show your own designs and sewn projects.

If English is not your first language, you will need to provide documentation of your English language level. VIA University College requires that you have an English level of B2 or higher (certificate is required), as you must be able to understand spoken English when following courses and be able to write assignments and reports in English.
As documentation, we accept confirmation of a B2 level from your home institution or one of the following internationally recognised language tests: TOEFL, IELTS or the Cambridge ESOL test.

Your home institution must have an inter-institutional agreement with the Department of Storytelling, Design and Business at VIA University College within the department in question in order for you to be able to apply for this exchange programme at VIA.
If an agreement exists, you will be able to fill in the application form. Please be aware that VIA must receive a nomination from your home institution as well.

Exchange students do not pay tuition fees.
Per definition, exchange stays are an exchange of one or more students between partner universities and therefore, exchange students do not pay tuition fees.
